As part of the special exhibition Earthly Eloquence (www.kccoc.org/ceramics), a special Artist Conversation “Tradition as Inspiration” was held at BISCO Hall. The event featured renowned Buncheong ceramic master Lee Kang Hyo in conversation with Yeonsoo Chee, Associate Curator of Korean Art at the Art Institute of Chicago.

During the program, Lee shared insights into his artistic inspirations and discussed how his dynamic, performance-like process of painting on ceramics is deeply intertwined with his creative practice. The event offered a rare opportunity for audiences to engage with the artist’s philosophy and the living tradition of Korean ceramic art.
